DURING THIS WEEK, TOP CHEFS IN CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE FEATURING ITALY’S MOST TREASURED DELICACIES INCLUDING PARMIGIANO REGGIANO CHEESE AND SEASONAL BLACK TRUFFLES, PAIRED WITH EXQUISITE ITALIAN WINES

Now in it’s fourth year, The Black Truffle Festival is an annual US wide celebration of great Italian food. Organized by Urbani Truffles in partnership with Parmigiano Reggiano, this year’s festival includes an exclusive wine sponsorship with Ca’ del Bosco, Masi and Lamole di Lamole – representing some of Italy’s best wines. Additionally, Chef Michele Casadei Massari has created a decadent and delicious treat for your palate that is super easy to make, and Eataly – the well-stocked Italian food emporium – is featuring the dish in their restaurants! Don’t miss all the festivities.

Black Summer Truffles and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
Earthy. Nutty. Delicious!

Black Summer Truffles grow in the forests of Umbria and Piedmont, where Urbani’s truffle hunters find these delicacies with the help of specially trained dogs. Black Truffles are less pungent than their more rare white counterparts, and the subtle nutty and earthy notes that make them a perfect complement to traditional dishes like eggs, pasta, and risotto (especially combined with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese).

The festival website allows you to see all participating restaurants and make reservations.

Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to enjoy
amazing Italian seasonal delicacies

The festival runs only one week, starting on June 26 and ending on July 4, 2021. During this week, participating restaurants will offer special items on their menu that combine the distinctive flavors of Urbani Black Truffles with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and the dishes will be accompanied with a selection of hand-picked Italian wines. We suggest that you don’t wait to make reservations, or you may miss the chance to treat yourself to a very special experience.

Chef Michele shows you how to create a fine Italian
dining experience, in your kitchen

Chef Michele created a special pasta recipe for the festival that he describes as “A perfect treat for dinner with the one you love”. In fact, the earthy rich flavor of Urbani’s Summer Black Truffles combined with the distinctive taste and texture of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese make this recipe an absolutely decadent and delicious treat. It is very easy to make, takes no time at all, and requires just a few (but very good) ingredients. As a pairing, Chef Michele suggests pouring a nice tall glass of Chianti Classico Riserva by Lamole di Lamole.

Eataly has joined us in celebrating the season
and is featuring the recipe at their restaurants.

There are few places in the US where you can find a better selection of outstanding Italian food than Eataly – which is widely considered one of the top markets for all things Italian. So, it is no surprise that they would want to join the festival sponsors and celebrate the Black Truffle season in true Italian style by offering Chef Michele’s Black Truffle Pasta and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese recipe in their restaurants. Additionally, Eataly has also published a nice article providing additional details about truffles and how well they pair with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese! Below is a link.
