An impressive panel of judges

The jury who will ultimately select the winning entries, includes professional designers and design
executives from a variety of industries and from very diverse backgrounds. However, despite all
their differences, they all share impressive professional accomplishments and each has made very
important contributions to the field of design

Mauro Porcini

A leading figure in the design community and widely recognized for his focus on innovation, Mauro is PepsiCo’s first ever Chief Design Officer – where he is responsible for leading innovation by design across the company’s food and beverage portfolio. Prior to PepsiCo, Mauro served as Chief Design Officer at 3M. Mauro recently authored his first book “The Age of Excellence: Innovation and creativity to build a better world”

Karim Rashid

One of the most prolific and awarded designers of his generation. Born in Egypt and raised in Canada, Karim Rashid is now based in NY. His designs include luxury goods, furniture, lighting, surface design, packaging, and more. Time magazine has described him as the “most famous industrial designer in all the Americas”

Ayse Birsel & Bibi Seck

Birsel+Seck, is an award-winning human-centered design and innovation studio, that emphasizes empathy, simplicity, and sustainability in the home, retail, automotive and office categories. Ayse is also the author of “Design the Life You Love”, about applying design thinking to our most important project, our life. Bibi is the co-founder of Quatorze Zero Huit, a concept store in Dakar, Senegal.

Richard Eisermann

Richard has had a wide-ranging design career working between Milan, London and the United States with Sottsass Associati, IDEO, Whirlpool, Philips and his own studio Prospect, among others. His award-winning, human-centered work blends hardware, software and service design to deliver end-to-end experiences that enable organizations to win hearts and minds and people to make meaning of their world.

Pietro Rovatti

Pietro Rovatti’s career spans the fields of design, branding and advertising. In 2003 he started the most award winning brand identity agency of the decade, Lumen. By 2014 he also launched Lumen Suisse and Lumen Design. In 2017 he founded Brand Advice, a firm that provides coaching to C-Level executives about brand strategy and design. Currently he is the global Brand Consultant for Parmigiano Reggiano and other food companies.

Judging Criteria & Methodology

The judging will take place online using a scoring process that will assign points towards each entry.
The entry with the most points will automatically win. Should there be a tie, the judges will have an opportunity to discuss and vote to select the winning entry. Below are a set of considerations that will be used to evaluate the work:

  • Inspiration from “authenticity” theme
  • Design Innovation
  • Design Functionality
  • Sustainability Considerations
  • Aesthetic Qualities
  • Overall Quality of Experience
